Lisa Olivia Munn was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Kimberly Schmid is of Chinese origin and grew up within Vietnam. Her father Winston Barrett Munn is from an American family that has deep roots in America's South. Olivia's parents separated at age two. She was raised by her mother who was as a pilot in the United States Air Force, and also her stepfather. Her primary residence was Tokyo, Japan, even when the family moved a lot. At this point she was a part of a number of local theater productions, and then began modeling within the Japanese fashion industry. Olivia left her home in the United States back to Los Angeles, where she pursued the dream of becoming an actor. Following a series of minor parts, Olivia landed a role after she was cast in the role of Mily Acua on the Hawaii filmed TV show Beyond the Break 2006 and the receptionist for Rob Schneider. She hosts G4's podcasts "The Daily Nut" along with "Formula D". She enjoys surfing, which she is still practicing after the television show Beyond the Break (2006). She also holds an unofficial black belt in Taekwondo. She was only two when her mother married again however this time to a US Air Force member. The family has moved numerous times. She was a majority of her youth in Tokyo Japan because that is the place where her father worked. The university she attended was the University of Oklahoma where she was a journalist with minors of Japanese and drama art.
