Ina Garten has been a popular American cookbook author for a number of seasons. Ina is also the Emmy-winning host of Food Networks longest running show Barefoot Contessa, which started in 2002. Ina Garten started her career in the White House where she wrote nuclear energy policies and budget reports. Though she found the career intellectually stimulating initially eventually she lost her interest in it and bought a tiny specialty store called Barefoot Contessa. The store was a success for 18 years. the store extremely successful before selling it off and picking up the pen to begin writing her first book. In the following years, numerous cookbooks were published, and she also contributed to magazine articles. In the meantime the Food Network show was also an enormous success. Her range of items spans from kitchen equipment to ingredients as well as storage containers. Ina did not go to a cookery school nor did she work in a restaurant. Her education is completely self-taught. Her name is associated with her casual style of cooking and entertaining.
