Zoe-perry

Perry is Perry is a Chicago native birthed to Laurie Metcalf and Jeff Perry. Her first television roles were two appearances on the show as Jackie Harris (as seen in flashback) in her role on the ABC sitcom Roseanne, the character portrayed by her mom. But her parents would not allow her to act until she reached the age of adulthood due to the negative effects that stress could affect their child. Perry stated she felt nervous to be an actor during high school, but started doing shows in the theater at Northwestern University as a way to make friends after transferring to the university from Boston University. Perry went on to New York, where she landed small roles in series like Law & Order: Criminal Intent. Home sickiness caused Perry home to California and theater roles were available. Perry performed with her mom as part of The Other Place at Broadway, back in 2013. In 2015, she starred with Kevin McKidd alongside her mother in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prizewinning drama Anna Christie. The Odyssey Theatre Ensemble is located in West Los Angeles. Perry was in nine episodes on ABC's drama The Family during 2016. Perry played a prominent role in the ABC drama about politics Scandal that starred her dad. That same year she appeared as a younger version of Mary Cooper on Young Sheldon (a CBS spinoff The Big Bang Theory), portraying her mother in a youthful version. The actress was chosen for the role in spite of her strong familial connection to the character.
